What is the Scaling Wall in MedTech?

The real brake on MedTech growth is not the market but the methods: without digital traceability in the QMS, growth hits a methodological wall.

What is the Scaling Wall in MedTech?

The real brake on growth in MedTech is not the market.

Most of the MD/IVD SME leaders we meet have the same profile: CE marking obtained or on its way, first customers signed, team in place. And yet growth stalls. Not because of the product. Not because of demand. Because of methods.

With a small annual production, Excel works. A paper binder is enough.

The Quality Manager keeps track of everything in their head. With medium production, cracks appear. With large production, the wall is there.

Non-conformities managed by hand. Batch records scattered.

CAPAs nowhere to be found when the audit comes. Tracking sheets that live in the teams' drawers, not in systems. And meanwhile, the auditor is back in 6 months.

The problem is that everyone sees it coming.

But the QMS transformation always comes after the emergency of the month. Until the day it becomes the emergency of the month.

Under the MDR/IVDR, traceability, deviations and CAPAs are no longer optional at scale. They can be audited at any time. A company that sticks to manual methods cannot increase its throughput without multiplying errors, or convince an investor doing due diligence on its processes.

When methods do not evolve, the company stops evolving.

The way out always starts in the same place: digitizing the core of the QMS (non-conformities, CAPAs, batch records) before trying to accelerate anything else. Not to please the auditor. So that growth rests on something solid.

The good news

This problem can be solved with the right tools. Arianis is a SaaS platform developed by Cerebellis. It was designed so that you spend less time reconstructing compliance evidence, and therefore more time producing and growing.
